Out of Hoffice | Auckland tour

David and Tessa are out of the Hoffice for a few days on a wee tour in Auckland. Here’s a cute snap of them out and about in Mt Wellington. 

They scored an invite to the Simplicity Living Productivity Hub where they checked out the Reiputa development, a 297 apartment complex due for completion in 2025.

Simplicity Living are a build to rent developer, addressing the housing crisis by building homes faster, better, and more affordably through innovative building practices.

Pretty much, they’re changing the way construction is done, and we really like the sound of that.

So, what did work mum and work dad learn from this visit:

• Solve all the engineering problems before you start work.

• If you can create something repeatable, you can hone into it and make it better with each iteration.

• Have a design that fits the skills you have on the job. By reducing admin and coordination effort onsite, it frees up your team to get on with the mahi.

• Don’t be a gatekeeper. Share your smarts and learnings to improve the wider industry.
