Here’s some candid snaps of our nerd department (aka the Design team) out in the wild on a recent team building day.
If you need a nerd, we have all the bases covered. Read about all their expert areas of nerdery below 👇
🤓 Joshua – Construction Specialist
Our go to guy for creating construction animations, visualisations and bringing drawings to life in 3D. A chippie by trade, his former days on the tools means he’s qualified to dish out uppercuts of reality to the designers and engineers.
🤓 Dean – Head Digital Engineer
Spends his days pouring over intricate and complex modelling stuff to make sure inny bits fit into outie holes. If you’re after BIM, digital twin or 3D coordination, Dean is your man. He earns bonus nerd points by wearing lycra. Says it’s for cycling. We remain unconvinced.
🤓 Tom – Senior Structural Engineer
Not just bridges. While he can design those, Tom’s engineering skills also extend to all sorts including water treatment plants and industrial structures. He’s your man to take a project from conceptual design right through to construction support. Earns bonus nerd points by going on hikes, bee keeping and says things like “that was pleasant”.
🤓 Anton – Head Bridge Engineer
Sits on the throne as king nerd of the nerd kingdom. Advanced nerdery in bridges. If you’re new here, we’ll forgive you for not knowing that. Just scroll back and you’ll see he goes on about bridges. All. The. Time.
🤓 Kaitlin – Digital Engineer
A highly skilled Digital Engineer with impeccable attention to detail means she excels in scrutinising whether a design can actually be built. If not, she’ll relentlessly tinker until it can. If Kaitlin’s taking care of the digital detailing on your project, it will mean less headaches on site during construction.
🤓 Hawaiki – Graduate Engineer
Don’t let those tough stickers on his arms fool you, Waiki is a nerd at his core. But one of those new Gen Zedder nerds so knows how to look like he’s cool. You aint’ fooling us, we know you like kinematics and plyometrics you nerd.
🤓 Stephen – Head of Construction
He likes big bridge and he cannot lie. An expert in long span bridge construction techniques and construction engineering. He’s our in-house Irish pro at complex temporary works and says things like “this canti needs a lever’ or something like that. I don’t know, we can’t actually understand him.
