Hoffcon tipping comp 2024

It’s tradition around here each Super Rugby Pacific season for the team to partake in a ‘friendly’ prediction competition on Superbru.

Here’s the current standings with the winner being decided at the big dance between The Blues and Chiefs Rugby Club this weekend:

🏈 1st place: Dean – As the winner of the 2023 competition, everyone is gunning for him and calls are being made that he should do the honourable thing and withdraw.

🏈 2nd place: Tessa – Has done a stellar job and been in the top pack all season. But seeing as she’s a director and it’s polite to let her staff win, calls are being made for her to do the right thing and withdraw.

🏈 3rd place: David – Taking it way too seriously staying up late to analyse game stats and weather patterns to make best informed picks. Says whoever wins needs to “run it straight” at him. Given he’s a director, calls are being made for him to do the right thing and withdraw.

🏈 4th place: Rebecca – Won the 2022 competition so should really be letting others have a turn. She runs Hoffcon financials and is threatening to not pay out if she doesn't win. Calls are being made for her to do the right thing and withdraw.

🏈 5th place: Sarah – So let’s assume all the others do the right thing and withdraw, here’s where the competition really starts! Sarah’s constant and hurtful harassment that everyone above her (including her bosses) should quit, has not been a very smart career move. Meeting booked with HR on Monday.

🏈 6th place: Stephen – Alleges that he “could have gone pro”. Says “NZ Rugby format is a joke”, and that he "doesn't even like rugby". Agrees that everyone in places 1-4 should withdraw.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Anton – Supports the Chiefs who knocked out our beloved Hurricanes, so we aren’t going to give him any airtime here. Go and take a hard look at yourself mate.

◾Naz – Asked why she couldn’t find the One NZ Warriors on the team list. Constantly asks “when is this over”.

Amanda – As her username suggests, she doesn’t know WhatIsGoingOn, and has made her picks based on shirt colours. Solid tactic, but unfortunately for her, she likes the colour red worn by the Crusaders. (Too soon?)

We always start with the intent of this being a fun employee engagement and relationship building exercise. It never ends that way.
